Designer Mikko Laakkonen was born in Espoo, Finland in 1974. He studied design at the Kymenlaakso Polytechnic (Bachelors of Arts) and at University of Arts and Design Helsinki (Master of Arts). After several years of working at design offices in Finland Mikko founded his own design studio in 2004. Mikko works with various national and international clients, among others Bosa s.r.l, Pasabahce, Inno-Tuote, Selki-Asema and Covo s.r.l. His Latva coat rack aroused a lot of interest in Salone Satellite at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2006. Serial production was started by Covo in 2007. Latva is imported to Finland by Aero Design Furniture Oy.
